If you have extra controllers plugged in, the game will automatically turn any idle player into a computer if they are left idle for 45 seconds in a Race/Challenge Event. There are a lot of achievements in this game which you will unlock in one go and you may want to keep checking to avoid yourself from repeating methods in the game for achievements you've already unlocked. Keep regularly checking to see what achievements you have left to do. May I recommend you do this in a Private Game Mode as well, since that will also prevent randoms from joining.
Once done press on all controllers to bring the extra players in. To do this simply press "Online" whilst all of your controllers are switched on, then sign in all the players you want with Guest accounts. If you have extra controllers in this game and a person who wants to play online with you, you can sign in your extra controllers online to block off any un-wanted players in your game. Note: If you're playing the game online, you will have a limited time to read the instructions for Races & Challenge Events before they automatically start. When you feel as though you are ready to play it, press the Button to Start. Use the Preview Video to show game-play of the Challenge Event you're going to play to help you get an idea of what you will be doing, before you play the Challenge Event. The most important tip I can give out in this game is that you should read the instructions on how to play each Challenge Event before you start it. The fact that the Mini-Games have been too simplified, since it was aimed at young children and another side note of the game is that it was developed by Krome Studios (famous for creating the Legend Of Spyro & Ty: The Tasmanian Tiger games) instead of Rare. The main drawback is the lack of features that are placed into the game. The game has received mostly mixed to poor feedback. The other 4 characters are their female counterparts. These include Hudson Horstachio, Paulie Pretztail, Fergy Fudgehog and Franklin Fizzlybear. The game features 8 playable characters based upon animals which were popular choices on the original Viva Piñata. Challenge Events are Mini-Games in which all 4-Players must compete and win to gain extra points towards the total score. Races are simply long race courses, in which the 4-Players must race against each other and cross the finish line. The game-play really only consists of 2 features.
